The Grafton & Districts 4WD Club inc
The Grafton & Districts 4WD Club was established in 1995 by a group of 4wd enthusiasts who wanted to explore the Clarence Valley. No one showed them where to go. They got hold of paper maps and off they went, they traveled the many tracks and trails around the Clarence Valley finding hidden treasures and breathtaking views from mountains to the Valleys vast river system, to this day there are many trails unexplored.
We currently have 18 vehicle members. This equates to about 30 adults and 15 children. Guests are always welcome to join us, please us to arrange this.
Member ship is per vehicle, $60 per year, payable in February. Attending a Driver Awareness is compulsory, this demonstrates to us what you and your vehicle are capable of. We would hate for anyone to be injured or their vehicle damaged.
Our Clubs activities are largely involved in 4WD vehicle touring and bush recreation; using regular day trips, weekend camping trips and extended trips throughout Australia. We use National Parks, State Forests and private lands. Members also undertake vegetation clearing/maintenance of tracks and historic sites around the Clarence Valley, this includes old cemeteries, huts/buildings and places of historical significance. We are one of a handful of clubs that are involved with National Parks and have access to behind the Locked Gate(With NPWS approval).
Our members are a diverse lot, from retirees to families with young children, We are very much a family friendly club with most outings based on family activities, We are also a Dog friendly Club, allowing dogs on camps where dogs are permitted. So why not join us for fun & adventure all the family can enjoy.
The Grafton & Districts 4WD Club is proud to be involved with the St Joseph's Cowper Children's Home, which provides therapeutic residential and foster care for young people. For 20 years the club has held a day out, where children & their carers enjoy a day out into some country that many don't get to see or experience. The Club provides Morning tea, Lunch and a history lesson on the area. The Club would like aknowledge the effort Alan Smith has put in over the last 18 years organizing these days out.
We are prouid to be associated with the following organizations.
